Data load went pretty well. Yea! Took the kittens for a walk. Or a lie down in the yard.
This spring, the outstanding faculty member who was selected is a friend of my mine from high school days. I felt the honor needed to be celebrated as they return from the summer. So, out came the annual and up on her office door came a banner. I didn’t want to ruin the surprise in the VERY UNLIKELY event she actually reads this blog. So, I only photographed the annual. Can you find me on the page?
My great aunt Effie died yesterday. She was, I think, the last living sibling of my grandfather on my dad’s side of the family. She was a typical country woman who had all kinds of talents, many of which I probably don’t even know about.
I didn’t know her very well but I did enjoy her when we were together, which was usually about once a year at the Christmas party. We would draw numbers and exchange gifts. One year, I got a basket made by her. The basket in the bottom shelf is that very one. I have used it ever since then for holding mail, diskettes and now a wide variety of things I need to get to someday. I took a quick look and her name is penciled on the bottom of the basket along with 1988, which is probably the year I won this basket at the gift exchange.
Thinking of her.
